Broken Player
If I could, I’d kill Maddox Everleigh.
But he’s famous now, and people would miss him.
Not me, but people.
I haven’t missed him since he walked out of my life so many years ago without so much as a backward glance.
Nope. Haven’t thought about him once.
Not about how his charming grin could make my whole day, or about how I loved him before I knew what love really was.
Now I know better.
I’ve been forced to watch for years through the lens of paparazzi cameras how he’s changed into someone I don’t recognize anymore.
So when he steps back into our small town, I’m tempted to make him suffer. To force him to feel even a fraction of the hurt I did when he left.
Instead, I need his help.
If I have to play nice, I will… for now.
But make no mistake—I’ll never forgive. By the time the dust settles, he’ll regret the day he ever met me.
